Miracle Waters is a dive getaway in clean spring water, with a view of the beautiful Magaliesberg mountain range – less than an hour’s drive from both Johannesburg and Pretoria!
Our large clear diving lake is an old open cast chrome mine surrounded by natural bush and farmlands. The water is so clean because it is naturally replenished by an underwater spring.
Entry is via paved paths for an easy plunge into the warm water.
Sporting five training platforms, it is the perfect place for instruction to beginners as well as for recreational dives at all levels. All training from One Star/Open Water Diver to Instructor Training can be done here…
The compressor room readily supplies air fills if you bring your own cylinders, and can hire out cylinders for those who need them.
The depth of our lake is 32m and the viz, which can reach 10m, is good. All divers can relax, as there are no major hazards or extreme depths. Numerous Black Bass and various species of Kurper are found in the shallows, while some “large” crabs lurk in the shallows! Items in the lake include: a 98-seater bus, 12-seat Cessna aeroplane, Puma helicopter, yacht, motor boat, Massey Ferguson tractor, “ventertjie”, row boats, BMW car, cement pipes – for a swim thru – silo, panel van, motor bike, bicycles, and a full sized swimming pool, and various other items (even a computer station!) have been introduced. Both the bus and aeroplane can safely be entered by appropriately trained divers.
Our latest addition is a Falcon F10 jet plane at 15m depth. ideal for open water divers!
A chalet with its own jetty – which is also ideal for training back rolls and entrance to the lake for handicapped divers – is available by appointment.
Under the shady trees are lovely picnic areas with tables and braai (BBQ) facilities where old and new friends can reminisce about the day’s diving activities.
The chalets (with electricity), have basic amenities and separate ablutions with hot showers. Hire one of our chalets for convenience )day use) or to overnight in. We are, on a daily basis, busy upgrading and improving our facilities.
Our canteen has cool drinks, ice, chocolates, braai packs, wood, charcoal and all other necessities you may need for the day.
For non-divers there are many things to see and do in the area. Bring along your binoculars and birding books. Children can enjoy the swimming pools and small play area under the supervision of their parents. It is recommended to pack sufficient sun protection for the day.
Come and join us for a great day outdoors and a real good dive in clean, warm water – you will not be disappointed!
We are looking forward to meeting you!
